tradition of our founder Benjamin   Altman's

philanthropic interests, our mission is to support programs and institutions that enrich the quality of life in New York City, with a particular focus on initiatives that help individuals, families, and communities benefit from the services and opportunities that will enable them to achieve their full potential. On this site you will find more information about the Foundation's history and the organizations we are currently supporting, as well as guidance on how to apply for a grant.

Please note that we have refined our guidelines and instituted a new application process for organizations seeking Altman Foundation support. All proposals submitted to the Foundation after June 1, 2008 must be on the new application forms.
